What better way to celebrate International Cat Day then with Cat Yoga?!

Over the weekend, Ocean City was the home of probably the best yoga session EVER.

(yes, this may almost top Goat Yoga)

Approximately 30 women, men and children gathered at Golden Buddha Yoga for "C.A.T.S on Mats," a fundraiser benefiting Cape-Atlantic C.A.T.S. (Citizens Altering The Strays), a registered non-profit cat rescue in the city.

As participants moved through yoga positions -- no downward dog in this class -- 11 kittens darted across the darkened room, weaving through legs, climbing onto backs, and receiving a ton of cuddles.

But the work out may have been a little too extensive for the kittens considering they settling in for a nap on the some exercise mats.

(That's my favorite yoga pose--Shavasana)

Each year, Cape-Atlantic C.A.T.S. helps to save the lives of approximately 400 area cats and kittens. The health of each rescue is evaluated, and medical care is given when needed. Many of the cats and kittens can be visited at the shelter inside the Mew To You Resale Shoppe on Asbury Avenue; some are taken in by foster families until permanent homes can be found.

If you'd like to consider adoption or fostering, check out the application process at capeatlanticcats.com or call 609-425-0058. All adoptable cats and kittens can also be viewed online at capeatlanticcats.petfinder.com.
