Although Beyonce has not said anything specific about the rumor that is sweeping the internet this day, by October 17th is should be official that she will performed the highly coveted halftime spot for NFL's big game.

Sources around Beyonce's people have told The Associated Press that the 31-yr-old superstar will bring her resume of 13 Top-10 hits (that includes 5 that reached #1) as a solo artist, and 9 Top-5 smashes when she was with Destiny's Child (including 4 #1's) to the Superdome in New Orleans on February 3rd.

When this becomes official, this will be Beyonce's 2nd appearance as a Super Bowl performer - she sang the National Anthem back in 2004 when the Super Bowl was playing in Houston (Beyonce's home town).

This decision could explain when Beyonce bailed on Clint Eastwood's remake of "A Star Is Born" - she had cited that "too many scheduling conflicts" as the issue.  Rehearsing and creating the Halftime show would seem to be the conflict since she has no touring plans or even a new CD.

You cannot argue the choice here for the Big Game in 2013, although there always seems to be a debate about who should get the honor of the Halftime show that will be seen by about 100 Million people worldwide.

Many top artist over the years have received the chance to perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but many standouts like Fleetwood Mac (who are reunited and preparing to tour), Pink (12 Top-10 hits that includes 3 that reached #1, and her recent first #1 album), Matchbox 20 (13 Pop Hits, not including the solo hits from Rob Thomas), and Kelly Clarkson (11 Top-10 hits, and the original American Idol) have never been in a Super Bowl halftime.
