As we continue to watch the riots in Baltimore, one particular cop is not only fighting to protect his city, but also has South Jersey blood in him.

Larry Fasano is originally from Tuckerton.  He couldn't find work in his home state of New Jersey, so he followed his favorite baseball team (the Orioles) and moved to Baltimore.

Twenty-two years later, the Pinelands Regional High School graduate finds himself still in Baltimore, and ready to face the riots. Larry happened to be on vacation when the rioting began.  He not only returned to work yesterday, but he also will soon join other New Jersey police officers.  Governor Chris Christie announced that he is sending 150 state troopers will be deployed to Baltimore to assist the city's law enforcement.

Maryland officials requested 5,000 law-enforcement personnel from the mid-Atlantic region to assist with the riots.

In addition to New Jersey State Police, Baltimore will receive support from 300 Pennsylvania law-enforcement members and 45 from the District of Columbia, more than 400 additional state troopers from Maryland and other states, 37 fire engines, eight truck companies and two heavy-rescue units from surrounding counties.  (Press of Atlantic City)
