South Jersey is sure to welcome many new additions to the community in 2021 (maybe more than usual thanks to all the quarantining that happened). These are the baby names we predict could become trendy this year.

Definitely look towards a return to pre and turn-of-the-century names. We're predicting they're likely to take over thanks to the popularity of Taylor Swift's two 2020 albums folklore and evermore (think Betty and Dorothea). And, with the massive obsession with Netflix's Bridgerton series (a cross between Gossip Girl and Downton Abbey set in Regency-era England) baby names like Simon and Hyacinth could come back into the fold.

Many parents may also be considering Archie for their sons, with a nod to former Royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Film inspiration may also arise with a few unique monikers, like those in the recent string of Star Wars films.

For baby girls:

  • Alice
  • Betty
  • Daphne
  • Dorothea
  • Eloise
  • Everly
  • Hyacinth
  • Marjorie
  • Penelope
  • Sailor
  • Willow

For baby boys:

  • Archie
  • Asher
  • Bowie
  • Coen
  • Colin
  • James
  • Kylo
  • Simon
  • Silas
  • Will

We'll see if our predictions come true!
