Atlantic City 30-inch Sewer Pipe Breaks; Raw Sewage in Bay

In a breaking news first report, “Hurley in the Morning” has learned and confirmed that a 30-inch Atlantic City sewer pipe has failed.

The result is that raw sewage is currently pouring into the bay by Albany Avenue, near Bader Field in Atlantic City.

Atlantic City Council President George Tibbitt discovered the leak and promptly reported it to Scott Evans, Who doubles as Atlantic City‘s fire chief and emergency management director.

Evans immediately contacted the state. Representatives from the state and city have surveyed the situation.

This is the pipe that brings sewage from Ventnor, Margate and Longport to the processing plant.

A similar pipe break occurred several years ago.

This latest pipe breakage most likely occurred 3-4 weeks ago, but, was not confirmed until recently by Tibbitt.

Residents and businesses located in the affected areas are requested to conserve water to help alleviate and minimize the flow of water through the force main, according to the ACPD.

The Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management and Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small will be making the official announcement of this news shortly.
