SoJO 104.9 invites you to join us this Saturday, June 4th for the Sea Isle Beer Fest at Kix McNutley's. Having gotten "a taste" for beer fests at last years' event, I sought out an expert's views on what to do and what not to do at a beer fest.

Here from Beeradvocate.com, is a Survival Guide to Beer Fests:

What's Your Tolerance?
We suggest figuring out your limit BEFORE attending a beer fest. Rest and drink plenty of water prior to the event so that you can be on your a-game.

Practice Safe Drinking aka Moderation
Beer fests are not the place to get sloppy drunk. Beer fests are the place to try new beers, mingle, appreciate the flavors. If you're looking for a college party, look elsewhere!

Take a Moment to Learn a Thing or Two
Trust us there is much more to a beer fest than just drinking yourself silly. Indulge in a conversation with the brewers. Read. Ask questions. Learn!

Water and Food Will be Your Friends
We can't stress the importance of this enough. Seriously. Hydrate, hydrate hydrate. According to Beer Advocate, water counteracts the alcohol (which ultimately is stripping your system of water).

Don't Block Booths
You won't make friends by camping out in front of the beer pouring stations. Take your sample and scoot along. Mingling can take place away from the tap.

Have a Plan
This is probably one of the most important, if not THE most important part of the puzzle - have a plan for leaving. Will you take public transportation? Call for a cab or Uber? Got your designated drive with you? Great! Whatever you do, don't plan on getting behind the wheel yourself.

Sea Isle Beer Fest is on Saturday, June 4th from 2:30 to 6:00 pm right outside of Kix McNutley’s!

The three hour premium event will showcase some of America’s best craft breweries and imports, as well as a special live performance by chart-topping band American Authors (‘Best Day of My Life’, ‘What We Live For’).

Join us to sample beers while you enjoy live music, delicious food available for purchase, and great vendors.

•We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to the event as ID checks must be performed.

In order to be admitted you must have your printed paper ticket in hand or a digital ticket on your mobile device. $10 designated driver tickets will be available at the door; designated drivers must be 21+.
