U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the government would begin sending out paper checks today, Wednesday. If you got your last stimulus check in the mail you can expect to get it in the mail within the next two weeks. Checks are typically sent to those who filed their 2019 taxes through the mail.

However, if you filed online and received your last stimulus payment through direct deposit, there could be $600 or more waiting for you as soon as today (Wednesday.) If your relief doesn't arrive today, don't worry. Government officials say that if you qualify you will see the money by next week at the latest.

As of now, the checks will be for $600. But, as you may know, lawmakers are working on legislation that would bump that amount up to $2000.

In terms of how much you and your household can expect, individuals that earned up to $75,000, or $150,000 for married couples, are eligible for the full $600 payment. Households are eligible for an additional $600 per qualifying child.

There is a threshold for those who earned more than $75,000 individually and $150,000 as married couples in 2019. The $600 payment will start to phase out at a rate of $5 per $100 of additional income.

Individuals earning more than $87,000 and married couples earning more than $174,000 are ineligible for payments.
