Jon McLachlan is new to SoJO 104.9, and will be here tomorrow for a visit that you are invited to, but if you think you have heard the name before you probably have.  Here are 5 reasons why this man may ring a bell in your head:

1) He scored a minor hit in 2007

Jon's debut CD Indiana (where he is born and bred) for Island Records saw his first single "Beautiful Disaster" connect on the Billboard Adult Hits chart in the Top-30.  His video has managed about 2 Million views on YouTube, and his song connects in speaking about the image of beauty - Jon shows in his lyrics that beauty is not what the media tells us ("Every magazine tells her she's not good enough - the pictures that she sees makes her cry").  Once you hear this song, you'll understand Jon's talent:

2) He has been on the big screen

In 2008, McLaughlin appeared as himself in the film Enchanted performing the song "So Close" in the climatic ball scene where Giselle and Robert dance and know they are meant for each other.  Jon went on to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Song, and performed it at the 80th Academy Awards .

3) You have seen him open for some talented performers

This happened during Kelly Clarkson's My December Tour in 2007/2008.  He then went on to open for Sara Bareillas, who he has a new song with.

4) You know his biggest hit to date

"Beating My Heart" became a Top-20 hit on the Billboard Adult Hits chart, and also found a voice in the world of Christian music with this song.

5) You have seen his name on Demi Lovato's CD

McLaughlin co-wrote "Every Time You Lie" and "Falling Over Me" with Demi Lovato for her 2nd CD that was out in 2008.  Check the CD sleeve and see for yourself!

Jon is not hard on the eyes (I'm man enough to admit that), so hopefully that puts it over the top for you to stop by SoJO tomorrow to meet this incredible talent.  All the details about tomorrow can be found by clicking here.
