3 South Jersey Hotels Make Travel & Leisure’s 10 Best Awards List
Three local South Jersey hotel properties have been chosen in this year's Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards for Best Resort Hotels in the Mid-Atlantic.
Atlantic City's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino took #10 on this year's list, with two Cape May County resorts locking up the top two spots.
Congratulations to Congress Hall, Cape May on their #2 ranking, and to Stone Harbor's The Reeds at Shelter Haven for taking the #1 spot on this inaugural list.
Each year, Travel + Leisure Magazine asks its readers to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. This year for the first time, the magazine ranked top resort hotels in the Mid-Atlantic on their facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.
Stone Harbor's eight-year-old Reeds at Shelter Haven drew raves from readers for, well, just about everything. "Simply excellent," says one; "amazing location, beautiful hotel, great family," writes another. With its Turkish hammam offerings, the luxurious, two-story Salt Spa is particularly unmissable.
"What else could you want?" one reader asked of #2 Congress Hall. "The ocean, a beautiful beach with cabanas including food and drink service, a stately historic hotel with beautiful rooms and excellent service, plus the charm of Victorian homes and businesses next door."
“We are honored to be acknowledged by Travel + Leisure readers as one of the country’s best resorts,” said Curtis Bashaw, managing partner, Cape Resorts. “Congress Hall prides itself on offering the finest facilities and amenities for guests and the community for over 200 years.”
Atlantic City's Hard Rock was the only casino resort hotel to make this year's Mid-Atlantic best list and the only resort property on the list from Atlantic County.
Isn't it great that attention from publications like Travel + Leisure is letting the world find out what we already knew? When it comes to natural beauty, upscale resort options, convenience, and service, and lots more, South Jersey doesn't take a back seat to anyone.
