Atlantic City Police say seventeen people were arrested during rioting and looting that took place in the city Sunday afternoon and night.

Authorities say as a peaceful protest was ending, a group of rioters began to walk along Atlantic Avenue breaking windows, damaging property, and stealing merchandise. Significant damage and looting occurred at The Walk in the center of the city.

The department is in the process of collecting surveillance coverage or any personal camera coverage that is being offered in an attempt to identify and charge those that were engaged in criminal activity. We are asking anyone with additional information to assist in our investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Section at 609-347-5766 or anonymously text to tip411 (847411). CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, riot, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Darlene Garrison, 50, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Riot and theft

ARRESTED: Dougie Debery, 22, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Riot

ARRESTED: Jamaal Johnson, 20, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Riot, burglary, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Michael Black, 30, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Riot, contempt of court, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Tyrone Keyes, 37, Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Aggravated assault on a police officer, riot, resisting arrest, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Joshua Cruz, 21, Camden.
CHARGES: Burglary

ARRESTED: Caneryn Carpenter, 20, Clementon.
CHARGES: Riot, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Jared Stewart, 29, Egg Harbor Township.
CHARGES: Riot and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Joey Osias, 21, Egg Harbor Township.
CHARGES: Riot, burglary, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Elliot Handy, 23, Galloway.
CHARGES: Criminal mischief, obstruction of justice, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Akissa Johnson, 21, Jersey City.
CHARGES: Riot, burglary, theft, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Nydurrah Richardson, 25, Lindenwold.
CHARGES: Burglary and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Dallas Holden, 24, Pleasantville.
CHARGES: Riot, burglary, theft, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Stephen Lewis, 37, Vineland.
CHARGES: Aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, hindering apprehension, burglary, possession of burglary tools, theft, and violation of an emergency order.

ARRESTED: Joshua Escobar, 25, West New York, NY.
CHARGES: Riot, burglary, theft, and violation of an emergency order.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., and Atlantic City Office of Emergency Management Director Scott Evans have announced that a local disaster emergency is now in effect enacting a curfew for Atlantic City. A curfew will be in effect from 7PM to 6AM each evening through Monday morning, June 8th. During the curfew hours, people are prohibited from being on a public street except for first responders; people traveling directly to and from work; attending religious services; commercial trucking and delivery services; obtaining food; caring for a family member, friend, or animal; or seeking medical care.
