The Eagles are getting one of key player back on offense for Sunday season's finale against the Giants, but will also be without a key piece.

Per the teams official injury report, the team has ruled out tight end Zach Ertz, while running back Jordan Howard will return after missing the past six weeks with a shoulder injury.

"You guys saw the hit last week," Head coach Doug Pedefson said when describing Ertz's injury.  "We want to be as transparent as we can with the reports. He is dealing with not only the rib, but the back as well."

Ertz was back out on the practice field on Friday, but he will not be able to help the Eagles on Sunday, where they need a win to win the NFC East.

"Obviously medically I want to make sure he's 100%. Zach is a tough guy," Pederson said. "I know he wants to be out there, but at the same time, I'm not going to risk anything further for him personally."

As for Howard, who last played in Week 9 against Chicago, he was finally cleared for contact and will play on Sunday. It seems he will have limited role with Miles Sanders and Boston Scott playing so well in his absence, getting a bulk of the reps.

"Challenge is we've been planning with Miles and [RB] Boston [Scott], and Jordan gives us obviously a third back, situational guy; we understand who he is," explained Pederson.

"Again, we mentioned yesterday as far as the conditioning and the game shape and being ready, you just can't give him a full complement of plays. We don't want to necessarily disrupt what we have going, but he is a big piece obviously to our offense."

The other two key names on the injury report are starting right tackle Lane Johnson and starting cornerback Jaylen Mills, both have been listed as questionable.

"There is progress. He is doing well," Pederson said about Johnson. "We’ll see again today how he does on land before we make a determination for this game."

Wide receiver Nelson Agholor will also miss the game with a knee injury.
