These days we are constantly glued to our phones, making it part of our daily routine. We are actually using our phones so much that it is causing health issues for some.

The condition is visually induced motion sickness, currently being called "cyber sickness." But how do you know if you are suffering from cyber sickness? People typically feel nausea, dizziness, and headaches due to their phone screen.

Giving 100% of your attention to your cellphone screen leads to cognitive dissonance because your body is seeing movement although you are sitting still. It is the opposite of traditional motion sickness because you aren't actually moving in most cases. The reason for this is because your body is perceiving that you are moving because of what you see on screen. This is especially disorienting for women who are prone to suffering from motion sickness.

Research also suggests that exposure to virtual environments can reduce your ability to react to stimuli in real life over time. The effects are also similar to being drunk which can make it difficult to perform different everyday tasks.

So try to take small breaks throughout your day from your cellphone and limit the amount of times you use social media per day. It'll actually make you feel better.
