I'm kind of an indoor girl. But I love festive activities so, when I got invited to visit the nighttime Cornfield of Terror at R and J Farm in Egg Harbor City, I said 'Sure, why not?'. Now, I know why.

According to R and J, the legend of the Cornfield of Terror goes like this:

'Many years ago, a local farmer from our area went into his cornfield to bring in the harvest and was never seen again. The only remaining evidence that something horrific had happened was the pool of blood in the dirt and scattered pieces of flesh.'

I have to say, as scared out of my skin as I was, I take my hat off to the actors in this corn maze. They REALLY committed to their roles. I went full-on 'willing suspension of disbelief' and couldn't talk myself into believing I was just part of an 'enactment'. That's what makes Halloween fun at R and J Farm so fun. It all feels so real. So if you and your friends are looking for a truly spooky experience, head to R and J. There's even movies being shown on a giant projector screen, a fire pit, and funnel cake! R and J Farm also offers fun, family-friendly activities during the day like pumpkin picking and hayrides!

The nighttime Cornfield of Terror is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through October 30th. R and J Farm is located at 723 W. Herschel Ave. in Egg Harbor City, just off Cologne Ave.
