To say that I'm a military airplane junky is an understatement. It's taken me 15 years to get permission to fly as a civilian in an F-16 fighter jet, but it happened. In the first part of my journey, I attend flight training at the 177th Fighter Wing.

Gearing up!

I spent four hours getting outfitted in a flight suit, sitting in a mock cockpit, and sitting in a flight simulator. Although it was overwhelming, I did my best to pay close attention to all the instructions I was given, if for no other reason than to calm my nerves. This entire experience is certainly not one for the faint of heart.

The adventure I was about to embark on really sank in when I strapped on my helmet. That's when I felt 'official'.

Below is a bit of video from my time at flight school, all leading to the big take off. Stay tuned!
