Rihanna, Katy Perry Lead Nominees For MTV Video Music Awards

The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards nominations have been announced. Rihanna and Drake are this year's most recognized artists scoring five nods a piece. Katy Perry is a four-time nominee with a chance for a moon man in the coveted Video Of The Year category for 'Wide Awake'. Carly Rae Jepsen and Fun. are among the nominees for Best New Artist. The MTV VMA's will take place on September 6 with performances by Alicia Keys and One Direction.

Just after 6:30am this morning Los Angeles time was when Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones, Soffia Vergara, and Gerard Butler announced the nominees in the movie categories for the Golden Globe Awards.
