Mike Trout has been the human highlight reel for the L.A. Angels virtually every night on ESPN, has been honored by his home town of Millville, has graced the cover of numerous sports magazines, and another record is about to fall in this historic rookie season.

The 2009 Millville High School graduate, now a professional baseball player, has achieved his 30th home run of the year for the Los Angeles Angels, a first for a rookie.

South Jersey hasn't had a professional athlete to gush over since Audubon's Joe Flacco entered the NFL.  But rookie baseball player Mike Trout has become the pride of his hometown of Millville, not to mention the entire Garden State.  And the city plans to place their affection where everyone can see it.

Delaware is so close, yet so far away in so many ways, but you may be surprised to realize what well known Jersey people have a connection with The First State in some way.

Seems like every week or so Mike Trout is doing something to be recognized by America.  The South Jersey baseball player for the L.A. Angels may have had his biggest moment to date this past week, and there still can be more to come for the 21-yr-old out of Millville High School.

In 11 days Mike Trout will finally be of legal drinking age.  He should celebrate being 21, but this South Jersey native may have much more to celebrate after this Major League Baseball season comes to an end - maybe post season play, a trip to the World Series, and the league's Most Valuable Player!

Major League Baseball was center stage on FOX last night for the 83rd edition of the All-Star Game in Kansas City.  The game was a blowout for the National League, winning 8-0, but the American League did see one All-Star stand out - South Jersey's favorite son Mike Trout.

Yesterday's news on South Jersey's high rising baseball star Mike Trout was front page news today for The Press of Atlantic City, and The Daily Journal out of Vineland - he is now an American League All-Star!

South Jersey's Mike Trout has been getting a lot of attention lately, this time, the Angels center fielder made the catch of the year against the Orioles.

With Major League Baseball's All-Star Game about 3 weeks away, it's time to start looking at who should be selected to go to Kansas City on July 10th.  If South Jersey's Mike Trout is not there, there is something wrong in the selection process.

With 8 straight wins the Los Angeles Angels have broken the .500 barrier, crept back toward respectability, and creating buzz around their young star Mike Trout - baseball's Rookie of the Year if the season ended right now.

Is it possible that a South Jersey guy who is not even of legal drinking age can save one team's struggling season?  The legend of Mike Trout is becoming something to see, as he has been the most effective player of late on a Los Angeles Angels team full of high salaries and disappointments.
