All signs point to fall here in South Jersey. Soon there will be a chill in the air, the sun is setting sooner, school's starting, football will soon be king on Friday nights and pumpkin spice coffee is back at Starbucks. Now it seems like the only thing missing is the changing of the leaves and that will happen before you know it.

According to NJ Hikers, the peak time for fall foliage in the Garden State begins on October 19th through the 29th. According to the Farmer's Almanac, the fall colors are at it's peak in New England on Columbus Day weekend before heading south, which usually means we get to see the vibrant colors of fall at its peak mid to late Ocober through early November here in the Garden State.

FYI: The first of day of the fall equinox will happen on Saturday, September 22nd at 9:54 PM.

My least favorite part of the fall season is picking up the darn leaves after they fall. I always wait until the last minute to rake them. I know I'm in trouble when my wife starts to rake without me. She'll usually wait until a football game starts. I know I better get my butt out there and help her or else!
