Acme of Upper Deerfield is shutting down by April 28 according a spokeswoman for Acme Markets. The Shrewsbury location is also closing. Both stores had leases that were about to expire and Acme decided to not renew and to focus on new stores that are in the process of opening.

Luckily, Acme is working with the current employees of the Upper Deerfield store with getting transfers to other locations.

If you're looking for an alternative, there is a Shop Rite located near the Acme. Also C-Town and Save-A-Lot in Bridgeton.
