The Huffington Post had a story out recently rating the 10 best Boardwalks in the world today, and South Jersey has 2 of the Top-5 Boardwalks according to a recent poll.

The editors of cheapflights.com have ranked their favorite boardwalks worldwide, and The Huffington Post reported that the fundamental commonality is proximity to the ocean and the sense that brings of breezy relaxation.  Atlantic City's Boardwalk came in #5, while Wildwood has the #2 Boardwalk in the world.

The Atlantic City Boardwalk has been described in this poll as " one of the most renowned in the country as America’s first boardwalk - flaunting world-class attractions, hotels and shopping, all along the water’s edge, expanding over four miles and several piers".  According to cheapflights.com, interest in A.C. has increased thanks in part to HBO and its award winning series Boardwalk Empire.

The Wildwood Boardwalk has become a "mega-boardwalk" according to The Huffington Post.  Cheapflights.com says Wildwood boasts more rides than Disneyland - something most of us already knew.  Having the Great White - the East Coast’s tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster - and having Kenny Chesney in concert should have had Wildwood #1, but alas that honor went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk in California.

Other Boardwalks that made the Top-10 included spots in France, Brazil, Singapore and Australia. California had only the one representative, which means that the Jersey Shore is better than the west coast?
