Happy Friday South Jersey and welcome to SoJO1049.com! Well of course this is the "big Labor Day" weekend when the shore get crazy and the traffic get crazier. Please use common sense when on the roads... Things like, if you are going 37 MPH in the fast lane, MOVE OVER! Seriously though, let's all be friendly on the roads and if you are stuck in traffic, please make sure you tune your car radio to SoJO 104.9 FM to keep up with South Jersey's Own traffic reports and of course great music with your favorite DJ's.
As I mentioned last week, Labor Day weekend does not symbolize the "end of summer" in my book. I'd like to think I still have plenty of time to enjoy great weather with some of the nation's greatest beaches... just now, I'll have a few more choices of parking spots! Yesss!!
I think most of you already have your plans sorted out for this weekend, but if you don't, I'll keep it nice and easy and get right to all the great things happening around town. Friday I'll be joining SoJO's Heather DeLuca for the "SoJO Summer Sendoff" at Gillian’s Island Waterpark on the boardwalk in Ocean City, from 1pm to 3pm! Soak up the sun and fun one last time with SoJO! If you didn't win tickets on the radio, not a problem! The park will be open to the public and you're more than welcome to join us. I'll tell ya what... just for reading my blog, the first 2 people to come up to me and mention "On The Marc", I'll give them a family four pack of tickets to the waterpark! And you won't even have to bribe me with a Dunkin Donuts ice coffee, light cream, 2 splendas and a pump of mocha... LOL just sayin'
Later that night in honor of the last Blue Moon until 2015, you can join me & SoJO on the Go at The Deck at Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City from 8pm to 10pm for a Blue Moon Party! Win a limited edition Blue Moon Pint Glass! Enjoy Blue Moon specials and gaze up at the Blue Moon in the sky! If you haven't checked out the all newly remodeled Golden Nugget, this is a great chance to do it! I recommend stopping by the noodle bar for a rice bowl and freshly rolled sushi.
Saturday the big Made in America Music Festival kicks off staring Jay-Z and Pearl Jam. This festival continues into Sunday with a line up of very diverse acts and DJ's including: Skrillex, Rita Ora, Afrojack, Drake, Jill Scott, Calvin Harris, Santigold and many more! It has been rumored that Beyonce will show up and maybe take the stage, however that is not officially confirmed! Tickets are still available and if you plan on going keep in mind it's general admission, so plan on early arrival if you wanna be close to the front!
If you were looking for something a little less hustle and bustle & closer to home, Train with special guest Andy Grammar will perform at the Borgata's Event Center Saturday night.
