Multiple Local Fire Companies Help Extinguish Fire

A fire in Port Republic required the aid of multiple fire departments.....

Fire companies in both Atlantic and Ocean counties came to the aid of a massive house fire in Port Republic last night, on the 200 Block of Old New York Road.

According to NBC 40,' The blaze began in the garage and quickly spread to other parts of the home.  Fire officials say the home is a total loss.Authorities have confirmed that one Port Republic firefighter was taken to the hospital for chest pains.'

So far, no other injuries have been reported; however, authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
