When I read the newspaper Sunday morning (and yes, I still read the newspaper), I was shocked to have learned a stabbing took place at Hamilton Mall Saturday afternoon.

There are some places that you don't expect such things to happen, and Hamilton Mall is one of them.  One shopper is the victim of a stabbing between the entrances of Kicks USA and Macy's, where him and the suspect apparently got into a fight.  The suspect fled the scene, who is described by police as a heavy-set black man, possibly in his late teens or early 20s.

Update:  According to The Press of Atlantic City, 'An arrest warrant has been issued for Atlantic City resident Hanif Cooper, 27, in connection with a stabbing.  Cooper will turn himself in to Hamilton Township police Tuesday.

James Leonard Jr. said his client was out Easter shopping with his 4-year-old son when two individuals attacked him.

"We fully expect the video in this case to show that, at no point was Mr. Cooper the aggressor," Leonard said. "In fact, he was jumped and assaulted by two individuals, at least one of whom was armed with a blade."

Cooper's criminal record includes two drug convictions, the last being a three-year suspended sentence in 2010.'
