Sea Isle City’s 19th Annual Polar Bear Plunge, which is held each year during President’s Weekend, will once again be enhanced by a variety of enjoyable activities, including a Costume Contest, a 5K Run / 1.5-mile Walk for Autism and four “Royal Family” competitions that will determine this year’s Polar Bear Prince, Princess, King and Queen.

In addition to each receiving valuable prizes, including crowns, sashes and iPad Minis, the members of Sea Isle’s 2013 Polar Bear Royal Family will lead thousands of plungers into the Atlantic Ocean during the weekend’s “main event” on Saturday, February 16.  They will also be invited to participate in other events throughout the coming year.

The 2013 Polar Bear Prince and Princess Contests, which are sponsored by the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization, will take place on Friday, February 15, starting at 6:00 p.m. under the Family Tent at LaCosta Complex, JFK Boulevard and Landis Avenue, emceed by Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization President Chris Glancey. Prince and Princess contestants must be 12 to 16 years old and must wear appropriate attire during the competitions. Judging will be based on appearance and personality. The 2013 Polar Bear King and Queen Competitions will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15 (immediately following the Prince and Princess Contests).   King and Queen contestants must be at least 21 years old. Judging will be based on the amount of money each contestant personally raises for Autism (50%) and on-stage interviews (50%).
