“Fishing for a Cure” Tournament

The 16th Annual “Jersey Shore Classic Inshore and Offshore Tournament” hosted by Avalon Marine Center (formerly the Avalon Pointe Marina) in Avalon, NJ will be held on Friday, July 20 and Saturday, July 21 as a direct fundraiser for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition (DBCC). Fisherman from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region will compete for cash prizes in various categories. Inshore boats will go after weakfish and flounder, while offshore boats will be searching for tuna and dolphin.
The Jersey Shore Classic tournament was founded in 1997 with the mission to raise money for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s education programs. Since its inception, the tournament has transformed from a 7-boat one-day event to a 100 plus boat, 2-day, all-inclusive Inshore and Offshore Tournament. The tournament has raised over $130,000 for DBCC’s programs and the fight against breast cancer in the past fifteen years. And, as an official RFA (Recreational Fishing Alliance) event, the tournament supports the RFA’s mission to protect our precious resources and sport for the future.
