A Quilt Show fundraiser for ovarian cancer will be held on Friday, September 28 from noon to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Monroe Township Public Library, 713 Marsha Avenue in Williamstown, NJ. The quilt show is sponsored by The Williamstown Farmers' Market and The Monroe Township Public Library, and supports A Spot of Teal an organization is helping women fighting ovarian cancer.

A Spot of Teal is an organization formed with the intent to help increase the number of ovarian cancer survivors by raising awareness about ovarian cancer and its early detection methods, and to raise funds to help local women who are facing the challenges brought on by this disease. TEAL is the representative color for Ovarian Cancer. It stands for Take Early Action and Live. Ovarian cancer strikes all ages, even preteens. Chances of survival increase with early detection. This quilt show is A Spot of Teal’s main fundraising event held annual each September. This quilt show is open to all quilters throughout the tri-State area.  Prizes include: Best in show a $250.00 shopping spree to the Williamstown Farmers Market; 1st place in Spot of Teal category,  $100.00; and 1st place in Novice Category, $100.00. In addition, special features during the quilt show include Orphan Squares for Sale, Fabric Swap, and Take-A-Chance Prizes. Quilt registration is $10.00, Vendor table is $50.00 (limited to quilting interests only). In addition, Program Ads are available, Half Page for $30.00, Full page for $60.00, and businesses donating prizes for chances receive free ad in ad book.

Quilt categories include: A Spot of Teal [quilt must contain at least a spot of teal], Group Quilt, Memories, Quilter's Choice [may be wall hangings, table runners, or bed quilts], and new this year Novice Category, sponsored by Linda Criscuolo of Paperbooks.

Organizers for this year’s quilt show are seeking donations of gift baskets, gift cards to businesses, orphans blocks, and fabric scraps.  Cash donations are also welcome to help support this worth cause.
