Daily Distraction: Watch a Mama Hippopotamus Swim and Play with Her New Baby [VIDEO]

A new baby hippo was born Monday at San Diego Zoo. Watch as his mama, named Funani, swim, play, and cuddle her newborn calf. CUTENESS OVERLOAD!

The calf, who doesn't yet have a name was born to Funani and father Otis, and appears to be doing well.

Hippo calves nurse for around eight months, so mom and baby will be staying close for a while. This is the fifth calf Funani has given birth to at the zoo.
