Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office has unveiled "CCPOTIP," on Wednesday allowing residents to have a way to send anonymous tips to police.

The app is available for both Android and iPhone users and authorities are able to text the "tipster" back for additional information. The tips are sent to authorities at the Prosecutor's Office, police departments in Bridgeton, Millville and Vineland, the State Police at Bridgeton or Port Norris station and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.

The app is perfect and easier for people who are afraid to help police because they don't want any retaliation. CCPOTIP app cost the county $7,000 and was paid for using the money seized from drug dealers.

So far, police departments in Vineland and Bridgeton already are using the TIP441 service. But if you happen to not download the app, tips can also be send through the Fight Crime - Submit A Tip section of the Prosecutor's Office's Facebook page.
