Monday afternoon saw a school bus crash into a tree in South Jersey, and there are numerous students that are injured from this incident.

The accident happened on the Garden State Parkway in the vicinity of Egg Harbor Township (northbound at Mile Marker 34) as a bus driver lost control.  Initial reports were saying 12 kids are injured from this crash (some reports say as many as 15), but as of Monday night it is believed as many as 30 students were hurt in this crash.

State Police say no injuries are considered severe.  22 of the students were sent Atlantic Care Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, while the others were sent to Shore Memorial or Atlantic City Mainland.

6 ABC Action News (who has video from the scene of the accident) is reporting that the kids on this bus are from Charter Tech High School in Somers Point.  Students told Action News that a wheel came off the bus while they were on the way home from school.

Traffic delays on GSP North lingered for hours to get all the kids out of there, as one lane of traffic was getting through during rush hour.

State Police say they are investigating the crash, and are looking into if there were any defects to the bus.
