After being silent for nearly 40 years, the largest instrument in the world returns to a national audience.

What a great time to be living in South Jersey, with the return of the Miss America Pageant airing nationwide this Sunday.

Along with all of the festivities at Boardwalk Hall, one historical sound will be returning to Atlantic City.  A sound that hasn't been heard in nearly 40 years.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, 'The partially restored Midmer-Losh organ, the largest pipe organ in the world, will be played during the 10-minute preshow by Dr. Steven Ball, the Hall's new official organist.'

The pipe organ is only 30 percent restored, but Dr. Ball is confident that the sound will be impressive.

I can only imagine what it will sound like once it's fully restored, but either way, it will an amazing moment to be a part of this historical occasion!
