This weekend cyclists of all levels will make a trek across South Jersey from the west to the east - they ride for MS, raising millions in dollars, and creating a sight on some roads leading to Ocean City.

Estimates are that between 7,000-8,000 cyclists are riding some part of this Bike MS: City to Shore Ride, whether it be the short romp of 25 miles to the 100 mile marathon.  Starting points this weekend will be in Mays Landing (25-mile ride), Hammonton (45-mile ride), and Cherry Hill (75-mile and 100-mile rides), and some brave cyclists may ride both days and log as much as 200 miles of riding over this weekend.

The bikers will be taking to the back roads through South Jersey, and will be quite a sight that may roll through your neighborhood (be aware if you are driving around the back routes this weekend). Local authorities are working closely with Ride MS to make sure everyone will be safe - riders and locals alike.

The proceeds of this special event goes to the National MS Society, who in turn provide services for the over 10,000 people in our area afflicted by MS.  This ride is considered one of the best cycling events on the East Coast, and has been a South Jersey tradition since 1980 (but it has grown to this amazing event you are reading about today).

Feel free to come down to Ocean City and watch these bikers finish their trek around 5th and Atlantic Avenue this weekend.
