Amusement park riders in Wildwood, New Jersey got more excitement than they expected when they got stuck following a power outage.

It reportedly happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon after a car accident happened just off the Wildwood boardwalk near Schellenger Ave. and Pacific Ave., knocking out electricity at Morey's Piers, according to NJ.com.

The Ferris wheel and popular Sea Serpent roller coaster were full of riders at the time.

According to Wildwood Boardwalk on Facebook, staff at the amusement pier worked to turn the Ferris wheel manually to be able to escort riders off.

It must have been a heated in experience for all involved as area temperatures at the time of the power outage were in the mid 80s.
