America’s Oldest Lighthouse is in New Jersey

It has been in operation at the Jersey Shore since 1764 and is the oldest lighthouse in The United States of America! They even have free tours!

Ever visit Sandy Hook Light? Yep, not only is Sandy Hook Light the oldest lighthouse in New Jersey, but the oldest lighthouse in the entire United States. Pretty awesome that it is still in use today.

Looking for something to do on a quick day trip? Take a tour of America's oldest lighthouse! The National Parks Service conducts tours, seven days a week, from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm. And oh yeah, the tours are free.
