A lot of people overlook Thanksgiving, and go straight to the Christmas holiday. That's why this Thanksgiving, we're mapping out all of the awesome things you can do in South Jersey! From football games to visiting shelters, there are so many ways to get involved in our community.

Thanksgiving is definitely a time to give back and be thankful for everything in life. Besides the great food and family time, it is really important to celebrate everyone around us. Be grateful this holiday season, and enjoy the beauty that South Jersey offers during the fall season.

    It is a big tradition for many high schools in South Jersey to have rival football games on Thanksgiving.

    On November 23rd, check to see if your local high school is having a big game. Head on down to the festivities and enjoy the fall air while watching some great local sports!

    Donate to Goodwill

    Tis' the season to be giving. Participate in some winter cleaning around the house.

    Afterwards, drive to a local donation spot to give your older belongings to someone in need! Nothing makes you more thankful than giving back to others.

    Take a Walk Around a Local Park

    After enjoying an amazing dinner, take this opportunity to enjoy nature. Walking around will help you digest, and also give you something to do with your family and friends.

    A park located right in Northfield, NJ  is Birch Grove Park and Family Campground. However, there are plenty of local parks and trails around South Jersey that you can explore this holiday season!

    Take Part in 'Thanksgiving Weekend in Avalon'

    The town of Avalon actually dedicates an entire weekend, starting the day before the holiday, to Thanksgiving!

    Avalon will be hosting events like the Festival of Trees, the Diller Home Turkey Trot, and more! Make sure to check them all out and invite all of your loved ones.
