A 33-pound cat named Sprinkles was rescued last week from a home at the Jersey Shore. Shelter officials say the 4-year old feline is three times the average weight of a cat.

Sheriff's deputies found living inside a foreclosed home in Sea Isle City. Sprinkles was covered in fleas and mites, an employee of an organization called S.O.S. Sea Isle City Cats told New York Daily News.

Now under the care of S.O.S., Sprinkles will be fed a strict diet in the hopes she'll lose a pound a month until she reaches her target weight of about 10 pounds. She'll then require surgery to keep her excess fur and skin from dragging on the floor, reports Huffington Post.

If you're up for the challenge, Sprinkles is up for adoption from the S.O.S. shelter's adoption page.
