Woman Arrested After Fiery Crash That Injured 5 in Atlantic City
A Gloucester County woman is facing a list of charges, including four counts of assault by auto, following a fiery car crash in Atlantic City Friday morning.
According to the Atlantic City Police Department, the accident happened just after 5AM in the 800 block of Mediterranean Avenue.
Arriving officers found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and all of the occupants were out. All five people that were in the vehicle were injured and taken to ARMC-City with various injuries. Police say all five are expected to recover.

An investigation conducted by Officer Eric Knuttel of the Accident Investigations Section led to the driver, India Wright, being arrested. Wright was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended New Jersey driver’s license. None of the occupants were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Surveillance video footage shows the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Melrose Avenue approaching Route 30. The vehicle continues straight jumping the curb, crossing over the sidewalk and striking concrete barriers.
23-year-old India Wright of Westville was charged with four counts of assault by auto, DWI, driving with a suspending license causing serious bodily injury, and various motor vehicle summons. She was released on a summons with a future court date.
