Don't be surprised if you're one of the only people that shows up to work next Monday.

A study conducted by The Workforce Institute at Kronos Incorporated has found that 17.2 million Americans are expected to call out of work next Monday. Further discoveries show that another 8 million are predicted to come into work late. Employers, if you're cool like that, we salute you. It's the day after the Super Bowl... chances are you won't be feeling your best either.

Even though employers won't be anywhere close to clueless of the reason they're operating with a smaller-than-normal staff, they'll have to hear every excuse in the book.

- 12% of people will miss work next Monday because they will claim they have a headache.

- 14% of people will miss work next Monday because they will claim they have a sore throat.

- 26% of people will miss work next Monday because they will claim they have a fever.

The funniest fact regarding "Super Bowl Fever" and the "Super Bowl Flu" that follows is that it's actually the bosses in the workplace who are more likely to take the day. The study shows that workers 18-34 will have the most anxiety about calling out in comparison to their higher level counterparts.
