Victimized Homeless Lakewood Man Gets Gift from the NFL [VIDEO]
65-year old Richard Leggatt was taken advantage of outside a Lakewood gas station last month when a passerby convinced him to pour hot coffee over his head in exchange for $5. It was a horrible trick that caught the attention of a local minister and the NFL.
Leggatt was reportedly wearing a tattered San Francisco 49ers football jacket when the coffee incident took place. The team sent him a brand new jacket along with other team gear, reports NJ.com. Minister Steve Brigham, an advocate for the homeless in Lakewood and surrounding areas, said the 49ers called him wanting to help Leggatt.
