Although no one grabbed the grand prize, 2 tickets in New Jersey tickets matched all five white balls to win million-dollar prizes. Both tickets were sold in North Jersey.

The two $1 million Mega Millions tickets were purchased at stores in Wallington, Bergen County and Sparta, Sussex County, NJ., according to the New Jersey Lottery website.

Each Mega Millions ticket costs $2 and winners must match six numbers, including the Mega Ball, to take home the full sum.

Two tickets sold in Florida had the Megaplier to win $2 million each. Overall, eleven $1 million tickets were sold including the two in New Jersey, California, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Washington and Florida.

The jackpot was an estimated $865 million with a cash option of $638.8 million. No one matched all six numbers so the estimated jackpot will rise to $970 million for Friday night's drawing. The cash option will be $716.3 million.

Friday's jackpot will be the second-largest jackpot in the history of Mega Millions. The largest Mega Millions prize was $1.537 billion on Oct. 23, 2018.

Of course, another massive lottery jackpot is pending tonight. The Powerball drawing is worth a projected $730 million, the fourth largest in that game's history and the sixth largest in American history.

It's the first time both lotteries have topped $700 million simultaneously.

The largest U.S. lottery prize ever was a $1.58 billion Powerball jackpot won by three players in 2016.

The odds of winning a jackpot are overwhelmingly slim at 1 in 302.5 million for Mega Millions and 1 in 292.2 million for Powerball.
