What a Surprise! Two More Dollar General Stores Proposed for Gloucester County NJ
The black and yellow is taking OVER! South Jersey could be getting not one, but TWO more Dollar General stores.
I can't deny the draw of Dollar General. Just last night I had to pick up some cat food and paper towels and didn't feel like going into a big grocery store, so I stopped at Dollar General. They had what I needed and I didn't have to walk 17 aisles to find it or find a spot in a busy parking lot. The convenience of a store like Dollar General speaks for itself.
But HOW MANY does South Jersey actually NEED? It feels like they're popping up EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME!
Now, two more are being proposed for Gloucester County: one in Washington Township, the other in the Deptford/Westville area.
According to 42freeway.com, a new free-standing Dollar General could end up on Route 47 in Deptford in front of Chestnut Lane Apartments, near the I-295 exit by Westville.
As for Washington Township, a Dollar General could go on Fish Pond Road near Pitman Downer Road. That proposal is reportedly already in front of the Washington Twp. Zoning Board.
42freeway.com calls Dollar General's plans an 'expansion', but one could argue it's a DOMINATION! Lol. We'll see if either gets approved and keep you posted.
