It all started with a letter to Santa by a Toms River 9-year-old and became one of the best feel good stories to come out of Ocean County this year thanks to the Toms River Police Department.

According to Patch, 9-year-old Mason Dentroux wrote a letter to Santa a few weeks ago saying that he wanted to be a Toms River Police officer for a day.

His mother Laura said that the letter was dropped in the mail before she even knew what it said, according to the Patch story.

Then, on Christmas Day, the Toms River Police showed up at the Dentroux house with a letter from Santa himself:

Laura shared videos of the whole thing, too:

It's definitely worth reading the whole story. You can click here for more about this magical Christmas Day surprise from Patch.
