Toms River Distributing Food Boxes For Those In Need This Friday
Toms River is holding another food distribution event to help those in need during this pandemic.
Happening this Friday, May 1st from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, the Township of Toms River will be distributing food boxes which contain a few days worth of groceries for those struggling to put food on the table.
There is no registration or appointment needed.
Just simply show up to one of these five locations:
1. The Citta School
2. Walnut Street School
3. East Dover Elementary School
4. 3rd Avenue parking lot in Ortley Beach
5. South Toms River Elementary School
When you arrive, DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CAR! Just pop your trunk and a food box will be placed inside for you by a volunteer.
There will also be a food distribution held at the Assembly of God Church on Bay Avenue between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
PLUS, there are hot meals being given out this Friday between 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River which is located at 1070 Hooper Avenue. We are sending a HUGE thank you to DRJ Catering for proving these hot meals.
If you cannot leave your home because of health reasons, reach out to the Township and you can set up a food delivery.
To anyone who needs help, don't be afraid to ask for it. This is a crazy time and we all need to stick together.
To those who are helping, I emulate you. You are doing amazing things during a crazy time and should be proud of EVERYTHING that you are doing and I know there are others who feel the same way.
Stay safe and healthy.
