In fact, it's a genius reveal and I like it a lot.

Philadelphia Flyers have introduced the new team mascot, Gritty, and it seems people have jumped on this literal monster in a negative way, saying he is a nightmare and comparing him to Pennywise the Clown. To which I have to say, why? Seems like many people do not like the 7-foot furball rocking a wicked beard, and I can’t seem to understand why.

And for the record, Pennywise is the worst thing out there, nothing will ever top that colorful nightmare.

I actually like him because I think he’s more relatable to people than you can see.

Also, it's 2018. Can we not judge a book by it's cover?

For one I think the kids will be absolutely attracted to him. He's goofy, colorful, fuzzy, and eye-candy for the younglings. If you don't think that's marketable then you are nuts.

Also, I feel like on a personal level Gritty is speaking to me. It's as if we were cut from the same cloth. Let's go down the checklist to see is this is true:

  1.  Lots of loving around the waist area? Check.
  2.  Looks like what I look like when I wake up in the morning? Check.
  3.  Funny looking? Double check.
  4. Odd facial hair? You bet, check.
  5. Tons of personality? Without a doubt, check.
  6. Friendly appearance? Check.

I could go on, but tell me something. Do any of those qualities also describe you? If you said yes guess what, Griity is you and you are Gritty!

So let's welcome Gritty with open arms, please?

And in case you forgot...

This is a nightmare.

This is not a nightmare.

Try not to get confused.
