State Police Continue to Investigate Thursday’s Tragic Shootings in Tabernacle
New Jersey State Police detectives continued their investigation today into yesterday’s shootings of three children and their mother in a home in Tabernacle.
Two of those children, 8-year-old Nadia Harriman and her 14-year-old brother Nicholas Harriman were declared dead at the scene. Their mother, Jeaninne LePage, and 11-year-old Alexander Harriman remain in Cooper Hospital in critical condition.
Troopers and detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence. Last night, they made contact with the children’s father and other friends of LePage. Detectives have spoken with the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office to advise them of the findings. Although the investigation remains open there is enough evidence to issue these basic findings:
• Jeaninne LePage is believed to have shot her three children and then turned the gun on herself
• A pillow was used to muffle the sound of the gunshots. None of the other five people in the home said that they heard any shots
• The weapon used was a revolver that was kept in the house and may have belonged to a relative who had passed away some time ago. The weapon was found in close proximity to LePage.
• The shootings took place in one upstairs bedroom
Charges against LePage will be determined by their office if she survives her injuries
