Stafford Township Police arrested a Toms River Man on Wednesday and charged him with stealing $38,000 in Building supplies from Universal Supply Company in Manahawkin.

Police received word from the company on Sat., Feb 11 that a theft occurred at Universal Supply Company on East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin.

A police investigation determined that Jesse Vonderlinden, 39, of Toms River had unlawfully entered the business on multiple occasions between January 13 and February 11, 2023, and removed over $38,000 of building materials.

Stafford Township Police issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday, Feb. 15, police received word that the surveillance cameras at Universal Supply had caught footage of Vonderlinden in the supply yard at the business and police responded in time to see him leaving the area in his vehicle.

Vonderlinden was arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief. He was taken to the Ocean County Jail to await a court hearing.
