A former attorney and former ad exec have ditched their occupations to become beer brewers and owner of Marlton's first ever brewery.

Zed’s Beer nano brewery from Bado Brewing LLC has opened in the center of downtown Marlton by husband and wife team Geoff Bado and Lori White, who began as home brewers.

Bado says his great-grandfather Zed provided much inspiration for his brewing venture, telling Courier Post, “When you look at the history of the family, beer has been in our blood since the late 1800s. Zed … worked in the coal mines in Hungary, and he also brewed beer. As we understand it, a few times a year, he would brew a barrel of beer and he would let everyone know when it was ready. He would tap the keg, but he didn’t have a faucet, so he had to make sure there were a certain number of people in line with tin pails going through.’’

Zed's currently boasts a dozen taproom taps, two of which serve nitro brews. Flights, pints and growlers are currently available.

The craft brewery business has been booming in New Jersey for the last several years. Currently there are about 70 in the Garden State.

Zed's Beer and Bado Brewing Company is located at 19 N. Maple Ave., Marlton and is open Thursdays 4-9p, Fridays noon-10p, and Saturdays and Sundays from noon-6p.
