The short documentary tells the story of Colette Marin-Catherine, a surviving member of the French Resistance.

The 25-minute film follows Colette Marin-Catherine as she travels to Germany for the first time in 74 years to see the Nazi forced labor camp where her brother, also a member of the French Resistance, died.

"When we were nominated, she reminded us that the power of documentary filmmaking ensured that her brother Jean Pierre was, as she put it, no longer lost in the night and fog of the Nazi concentration camp system,” Giacchino said in his acceptance speech.

According to the Vineland Daily Journal, Giacchino graduated from Holy Cross Prep Academy in 1988. He currently lives in Brooklyn. Giacchino is currently working on an untitled World War II project set for the 75th anniversary of the end of the war.

The Twitter handle Friends of Holy Cross congratulated Giacchino.
