Rachel Nash, a doctor in South Jersey, has spent the last few months doing something she's never had to do before: treat patients afflicted with coronavirus. But, she's also experienced another life event recently when her boyfriend proposed to her.

Neil Makhija surprised Rachel, a physician at Cooper University Hospital, with a ring Tuesday night in the same place they had their very first date, Locust Way in Philly.

Neil enlisted a local band to sing he and Rachel's song, "I Have Met My Love Today" by John Prine, as he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage.

He had also invited family and friends to witness the momentous occasion, who socially distanced, of course, but banged pots and pans in celebration. That's a sound Dr. Nash has come to welcome amid COVID-19. She told 6abc.com, "The pots and pans for health care workers has always struck me and made me emotional because it's not often that I feel we're always recognized for all that we do. And to have that and to have these people be apart of it, I think it's great!"

The couple made the difficult decision to live apart when the pandemic hit, because Makhija suffers from asthma, the couple tells 6abc.

Congratulations, Dr. Rachel and Neil. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and much less time apart very soon!
