As always, you can expect 'Thrills by Day, Fright by Night,' with family-friendly activities during the day, and the scarier action after 6 p.m.

Thrills by Day

There's also the Trick or Treat Trail, where kids 12 and under can go trick-or-treating while meeting their favorite characters! In addition, of course, are all of the rides and coasters, as well as the Safari Off-Road Adventure! The daytime activities run from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

    Fright by Night

After 6 p.m., things take a turn for the scary as Fright by Night begins. (Keep in mind that Fright Fest's Fright by Night is not recommended for kids under 12, or those who scare easily.)

It starts with a swarm of zombies, evil clowns, and 'freaks of nature' all being released into the park during The Awakening, where they'll roam through scare zones, mazes, and the outdoor walk-throughs.

    • Bilkum, Burnham & Haugh’s Side Show Spectacular – A heart-pounding freak show featuring the world-famous Lizardman, Murrugun the Mystic, and the beautiful sorceress Catalina Askew. (Contains adult humor, not suitable for kids under 12.)
    • The Donniker Bros. Worlds of Mirth – Evil clowns with a twisted sense of humor encourage fans to step right up to experience their show. (Contains adult humor.)
    • Slash – Illusionists John Bundy and Morgan blur the line between reality and horror with this show combing gore, violence, and dark humor. (Mature audiences only.)
    • Cell Block 6 Haunted Maze – Wind your way through an intense "prison on lockdown" overrun with terrifying and angry inmates of all kinds trying to break out. (Additional fee required.)

There are seven other mazes/walk-throughs to explore:

  • "Big Top Terror 3-D," an indoor haunted maze that'll take you to "a forgotten carnival trapped in the netherworld, where freaks and inbred horrors need fresh, new souls to escape."
  • Fright Fest Awakening Zombie

  • "The Haunted Heist" - a walk-through set at an abandoned and haunted archaeological dig site.
  • "The Manor" - a walk-through what was once just a run-down house-turned-construction site...now the site of something far more sinister.
  • "Total Darkness" - a haunted walk-through in...you guessed it...total darkness.
  • "Voodoo Island" - a walk-through the set of TV's newest reality show...where things have gone horribly wrong.
  • "Wasteland" - A walk-through that shows the results of a scientist attempting to populate the 'Demented Forest."
  • There are four scare zones this year, including Bone Butcher Terror-tory, Big Top Terror 2, Bloody Fountain, and Demon District.

There are also the three new nighttime shows, also known as "monstertainment," as well as "Dead Man’s Party: Graveyard Rock."

Plus, all the thrills from some of the biggest and best rides and roller coasters in the country...speaking of which...

    There's a new coaster experience!

    • Rage of the Gargoyles virtual reality coaster – Set on the Skull Mountain coaster, riders will get to "use Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus headsets to battle demonic creatures in the world’s first interactive gaming VR experience on a coaster." (There are a lot of restrictions on this experience. You must be at least 13 years old, a season pass holder, AND purchase a haunted maze pass...plus own a Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, or Galaxy Note 7 phone. Sorry iPhoners!)
