Showboat Atlantic City Wants to Reintroduce Gambling
The openings of two nearby casinos on the Atlantic City boardwalk reportedly has Showboat wanting back in the gaming business.
In the wake of the success of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Resort, Bart Blatstein, the owner of Showboat Hotel, is moving forward with plans to bring back gambling back to the establishment, according to NJ.com.
Showboat Casino closed down in 2014, and converted to a hotel property.
Great news for Showboat today, the state Casino Control Commission gave Blatstein the green light to pursue a casino license.
It's possible, though, that the casino may actually be built from the ground up, and not occupy space in the current hotel. Blatstein reportedly owns an empty lot next to the hotel, but would not reveal any further plans.
