Authorities are still searching for the missing fisherman from Tuckerton after his boat was found empty on Hither Island, Friday morning.According to reports, 45-year-old Christopher Hugg told a family member Thursday night, his boat ran aground but he had it under control.

The next morning, the Coast Guard found his clam boat empty with all his fishing equipment and no sign of Hugg. Immediately, the Coast Guard, NJ State police and local authorities deployed rescue boats and helicopters to find him.

The search was suspended Friday night after it became too dark and authorities found no sign of him.

6abc News mentions, Hugg lives within the search area and has been fishing there all his life.

Authorities speculate and hope he may be on one of the small islands nearby.
